Monitoring Surveyor General Purpose

To provide monitoring services and report progress to clients who instruct us act on their instructions.

It supports lenders in the monitoring and draw down approval for continued works on development and bridging finance.
Main Duties
Monitoring Surveyor Key Responsibilities:

Prepare written reports on the viability of a development project (Initial report) and budgetary control, quality, progress, insurances, contracts, and adherence to statutory procedures (Interim Reports).

Provide diligent monitoring during construction and approving drawdowns from the agreed

fund.

Ensure all financial and project-related documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with relevant laws and standards.

Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.

Ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects.

Regularly engage with borrowers in a client-facing role to build relationships and support business development strategies.

Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.
Monitoring Surveyor Qualifications and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in building surveying (preferred) or Quantity Surveying.

MRICS, or equivalent qualification.
-
A minimum of 3 years of experience in project or fund monitoring, with proven experience in managing residential developments including both refurbishments and new builds, ranging from £250,000 to £1,500,000.

Must understand loan documentation to identify and monitor clauses for compliance and risk identification.

Good practical knowledge of construction processes and working knowledge of building contracts.

Good practical knowledge of Planning, Building Control, and House in Multiple Occupation
