The Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining the highest industry standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to key projects and influence business growth through strategic estimating and bid management.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for civil engineering and groundworks projects.

Analyse project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate pricing structures.

Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure cost efficiency.

Identify potential project risks and opportunities to optimise commercial outcomes.

Collaborate with the pre-construction team, project managers, and commercial teams to develop winning strategies.

Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to senior management and clients.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, industry regulations, and cost fluctuations.

Ensure all tenders and estimates comply with company policies and industry best practices.
Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the civils and groundworks sector.

Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Strong understanding of groundworks, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.

Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Strong negotiation and communication skills to engage with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
