Position: Senior Estimator

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum +car allowance + package

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining the highest industry standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to key projects and influence business growth through strategic estimating and bid management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for civil engineering and groundworks projects.
• Analyse project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate pricing structures.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure cost efficiency.
• Identify potential project risks and opportunities to optimise commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with the pre-construction team, project managers, and commercial teams to develop winning strategies.
• Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to senior management and clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, industry regulations, and cost fluctuations.
• Ensure all tenders and estimates comply with company policies and industry best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the civils and groundworks sector.
• Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of groundworks, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to engage with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
